Hades (Hay – dees) gets a lot of flack for being the god of the Underworld because people associate him with death. However, it is important to remember that Hades doesn’t cause death, he in fact just guards over those who have died. In Earth Drummer, Hades is first represented as an adventurer and a loner, much like his brother Zeus. In Fire Dancer, Hades is referenced as the king of the Underworld and husband to Persephone, whose water aspect is levelled with magma for the Titaians.
Of course, he’s no angel. Hades is known for abducting a young Persephone from her mother, Demeter, leading to the creation of the seasons. Was it love, or lust that drove him to such an action?
